The notebook chaos buster: Kobo Libra Color
This is not my first reader. But the first one who went through so much with me (or actually sailed through it). Despite the difficult conditions, he managed to cope, and that’s lucky, because thanks to him I started another artistic project. What are we talking about? About the color reader – Kobo Libra Color!
The material may contain minor spoilers regarding the location!!!

I already knew that today’s e-readers can be used not only for reading journeys. A year ago, I got Rakuten Kobo Elipsa 2E , which made me fall in love with taking notes on e-paper. Now I had the opportunity to play with the new Kobo device. Which not only developed its capabilities, but also gained… color!
Reader – it’s a real godsend when traveling
I won’t hide the fact that I have always preferred books on paper, and it cannot be denied that the new Kobo device has not changed my opinion. I still prefer to feel that melodramatic sound of rustling paper and smell the printing ink. But let’s be honest. You can’t always take a stack of publications with you everywhere.

It also happens that out of sheer laziness you don’t want to deal with it logistically. And here readers such as Kobo Libra Color say “good morning”. In my case, during the test I had to go on an approximately three-week cruise where I didn’t have the luxury of packing a lot of publications with me.
There’s nothing to do with magic, the new Kobo reader doesn’t do anything extraordinary here. But it fully serves its purpose. I could easily download a dozen or so books and comics onto it (via Wi-Fi and cable). And it was pure pleasure to recreate them. The device fits securely in your hand, regardless of whether you are sitting, standing, or (in my case most often) lying down.

What I liked most about reading was the speed of turning pages and the fact that the device has a backlit screen! This is new to me in the reader. And what’s cool is that the light allows you to read. And fortunately, not much else. Due to the fact that the reader did not emit too much light, I could easily read or take notes while lying in the bunk, without disturbing my fellow crew members. And for those who are keen on settings, there is of course an option to brighten or darken it.
What a notebook!
I won’t lie, however, that what impressed me the most while working with Kobo was all the notebook functions. It just happened here! The fact that you can draw on documents with a stylus is nothing new. However, as I wrote while playing with the Elipsa 2E model, this is a very useful function.

Of course I couldn’t give up and I started playing with my notebook. And how does it work? The ability to use color really does the job. The colorfully underlined text looks impressive, as does the ability to, for example, sketch.
I enjoyed sketching on Kobo so much that I accidentally started writing a manga script based on my first book. The ease of using the stylus and basic functions made getting started very pleasant!

And when I turned the sketch into a real version, of course there was nothing stopping me from viewing my work on the reader. It was a very pleasant moment, I must admit, but reading manga on Kobo Libra Color is pure pleasure. Each page is very clear, and if the inscriptions are not legible enough, there is nothing to stop you from enlarging them with one hand movement.

I haven’t mentioned yet one interesting feature that the latest Kobo reader has. This is an automatic conversion of written text into printed text! I have a little bite here. The feature works incredibly well. The reader recognized Polish characters, spotted punctuation without any problems, and even turned sketched squares into checkboxes that could then be checked. But… I didn’t really find any use for it in my case. But in case you were wondering, does this feature work? Works like hell!
Reader, notebook – it works perfectly in both cases
The tasks that I had prepared in my head before receiving the device from Kobo were more than completed during the tests. If I had anything to complain about, it would be the case itself, which is very comfortable and makes the device safe, but I had a problem with pressing the ON/OFF button. Apart from that? I can’t blame him for anything.

What more can I write? If you are looking for a reader with a notebook function, Kobo Libra Color is a good choice! It works great in both tasks, and apart from that, the battery lasts very well. And reading manga is a real pleasure!
I received the test device – Kobo Libra Color – as part of cooperation from MSLGROUP Sp. Z OO
Many thanks!
